Eligibility

Student Internships Home

It's easy for you to participate in an internship!
Here are the eligibility requirements.

High School Students

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Be enrolled in high school full-time
  • Be able to work at least 10-20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 per week during the summer, depending on position requirements
  • Be enrolled next school year to be eligible for summer internships
  • Best suited for juniors and seniors

Freshman and Sophmores

Stay on track and continue working hard in school and apply with us your junior year!

College Students

  • Be actively enrolled in an approved college program
  • Be on your way to obtaining a college degree or certificate
  • Be taking a minimum of six (6) credit hours per quarter or semester
  • Provide proof of continued enrollment each school quarter or semester
  • Be able to work between 20-40 hours per week during school year or summer, depending on position requirements
  • Undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate level students welcome

How It Works

  • You are interested in becoming a BEC student intern.
  • You want to become part of the BEC intern candidate pool.

What's next?

  1. Submit Application: Complete each section of our online application and submit to the BEC, located in the Apply Now section of this site.
  2. Position Matching: You become a member of the candidate pool; BEC matches you with open positions if you are qualified for them and will contact you if a supervisor would like to interview you.
  3. Employer Interviews: Employer performs onsite and/or telephone interviews with candidates and selects top choice.
  4. Hiring: If you are the one selected, the BEC hires you and you attend an orientation.
  5. Drug Screening/ Background Testing Occurs if required prior to you starting the internship.
  6. Candidate Pool Even if you are not chosen right away for a position, you will remain in our candidate pool for six months. We may send your resume for other positions you may qualify for, and the process continues from there.
