The BEC is immensely grateful to our partners whose support has been critical to our leading-edge work in proficiency-based education.
Special thanks to the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation trustees who believed in our vision and who have supported the Initiative from its launch in 2003.
In addition to strong collaboration from the Oregon Department of Education and the Oregon Education Association, we wish to provide special acknowledgment to these valued partners:
Foundations
Universities
Businesses
School Districts
During the 2010-11 academic year, these Oregon districts are participating with the BEC in a pilot to implement and strengthen proficiency-based practices in identified content areas and to gather evidence of student achievement.
The BEC's work in proficiency-based teaching and learning is made possible with community support. The work ahead is substantial with nearly 600,000 students and 30,000 in Oregon's public K-12 schools alone.
By investing in the Business Education Compact, you will be investing in the future of our kids. You'll be investing in a vital Oregon economy.
“This proficiency initiative is capturing the imagination and enthusiasm of educators across the state. BEC has fostered a unique partnership with the Oregon Department of Education…As a result of their work, this initiative is poised to make a real difference in Oregon teaching and learning.”
