About this Guide

Oregon teachers will find help to implement the new K-12 science engineering standards. This can be used as a stand-alone resource or as a supplement to participation in National Engineers Month.

Rebecca Steinke is the author of this guide and a passionate advocate for using proficiency practices in the classroom. A former science teacher at Scappoose High, Rebecca successfully implemented proficiency-based instruction in her classroom for several years. She is currently at the Oregon Connections Academy and an instructor in Willamette’s teacher education program.
