The Business Education Compact (BEC) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization founded in 1984. The BEC creates and leads working partnerships with business and education, engaging students and teachers in hands-on, innovate learning experiences such as internships that transform classroom teaching and learning. Business and education partnerships are the most effective method for leveraging public and private resources to improve the quality of education, build inspired connections between learning and working, and assist in preparing a qualified workforce. The BEC serves K-12 schools, post-secondary institutions, and businesses throughout Oregon and is governed by a Board of Directors composed of 50% business leaders and 50% education leaders.
